How to fix the error about iTunes backup can't restore?


My iPhone can't restore my latest backup with iTunes because an error occurred in restore process. If your device couldn't be restored and you get a message that "an unknown error occurred error number, here we collect some restore error number and solutions to resolve them.


Error 1, 3, 10, 11, 12, 16, 20, 21, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, 34, 35, 36, 37, 40, 56, 1002, 1004, 1011, 1012, 1014, 1667 1669

If you see one of the errors, you might have a hardware issue. Make sure that your USB cable, computer, and network are reliable. Check your third-party security software. If iTunes is already open, quit and reopen it.


Error 13, 14, 1600, 1601, 1602, 1603, 1604, 1611, 1643–1650, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2009

If you see one of the errors, check your USB connection, USB cable, USB port, or computer. Use the USB cable that came with your device. If you don't have it, try a different Apple USB cable. Switch to a different USB port on your computer. Don't plug into your keyboard. Switch to a USB port on a different computer.


Error 17, 1638, 3014, 3194, 3000, 3002, 3004, 3013, 3014, 3015, 3194, 3200

If you see one of the errors, or ‘This device isn‘t eligible for the requested build‘ in iTunes. It means that iTunes can’t communicate with Apple's software update server. Check your third-party security software and install the latest version of iTunes on your computer. Or try to restore or update on another computer with a different Internet connection.


Error 9, 4013, 4014, 4005

If your iOS device disconnects during the update or restore or if iTunes couldn't tell the device to restore, you might see one of errors.

Install the latest version of iTunes. Force your device to restart and connect your device to your computer using a USB cable. When iTunes asks you to update or restore, click Update (not Restore) to reinstall iOS and keep your personal data.


Error 53

When you see error 53 and your device gets stuck on the "Connect to iTunes" screen. Error 53 appears when a device fails a security test. This test was designed to check whether Touch ID works properly before the device leaves the factory, and wasn’t intended to affect customers.

Connect your iOS device to your computer with a USB cable. Open iTunes and select your device. When you see the option in iTunes to Restore or Update, click Update. iTunes will try to reinstall iOS and restore your device without erasing your data. If you can't get past the Apple logo screen, force restart2 your iOS device. When you see the option to Restore or Update, click Restore.


Error 1671

If you see error 1671, iTunes is downloading necessary software. Wait for the download to finish, then try again. To see how long the download should take, click the down arrow in the upper-right corner of iTunes.


If an alert says there's not enough disk space

If a message says there’s not enough disk space when you try to back up your device, free some space on your Mac or PC. Most iOS backups require at least 1 or 2 GBs of free space on your system drive. If you can’t backup due insufficient PC space, we recommend that you free up at least 5 GB from your primary computer drive.


If an alert says that your backup is corrupt or incompatible


If iTunes can't restore from a backup because the backup is corrupt or incompatible. you won't be able to use that backup to restore to your device.
